Representing more than 21,000 police officers across the state, the Florida Fraternal Order of Police is endorsing Adam Putnam to be Florida’s next governor.
The announcement came Saturday at the FOP’s Florida State June Conference.
“Public safety is job one, it’s why we have state government. I will always have your back and I’m honored to be supported by the Fraternal Order of Police,” Putnam said to the Florida FOP membership on Saturday. “I don’t want to live in a state that doesn’t respect, honor and support its law enforcement.”
Putnam and Florida FOP have a last standing relationship. Florida FOP supported Putnam during his 2010 campaign for state Agriculture Commissioner and again during his reelection campaign in 2014.
“Adam has a keen understanding of the issues and threats facing our police officers as we work to protect our state and communities,” said Robert Jenkins, President of Florida Fraternal Order of Police. “Adam will put Florida First and will fight for our state’s law enforcement officers. He recognizes that public safety is the foundation of our society and has a strong record of supporting law enforcement.”
FOP represents thousands of police officers and sheriffs deputies across Florida.
