Former Judge Ashley Moody has won the endorsement of the Florida Medical Association PAC in her campaign to be Florida Attorney General.
“The FMA PAC is proud to endorse former federal judge and prosecutor Ashley Moody as our next Attorney General,” said FMA PAC President, Dr. Mike Patete. “Moody has been meeting with our physicians for more than a year, sharing her vision for Florida’s future, and we know she will be a true friend of medicine as Attorney General.”
“Thank you to the Florida Medical Association’s PAC for their endorsement of my candidacy,” said Moody. “As Attorney General I will work with the FMA to combat the opioid crisis, prosecute those who prey upon vulnerable Floridians, and eliminate Medicaid fraud.”
This is an open seat currently held by Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is term limited. General Bondi has also endorsed Ashley Moody in this race.
Republican Agriculture Commissioner candidate Denise Grimsley has added to her support from law enforcement and first responders by winning the backing of the Florida Police Chief’s Association.
“We are confident Denise Grimsley is the best candidate to promote and implement policy that gives law enforcement the ability to enhance public safety and security through the right resources and cooperation,” said Amy Mercer, executive director of the FPCA. “Her focus on consumer protection is second to none, and, if elected, we look forward to working with her to stop criminals who seek to defraud Floridians, and harm and disrupt their everyday lives through the use of skimmers at the gas station pump and other deceptive practices.”
“I sincerely thank the FPCA for their endorsement,” said Grimsley. “Since Day One, our campaign has made a commitment to meet with law enforcement as we travel the state, because it is vitally important that the next Florida Commissioner of Agriculture be ready to work hand in glove with law enforcement the moment they take office, in order to confront the barrage of scams and frauds that Floridians face on a daily basis. And, as Florida’s next Commissioner of Agriculture and Chief Consumer Advocate, I have a plan in place aimed at fighting fraud and scams that uniquely target our state’s most vulnerable, and I am prepared to work with any entity, particularly law enforcement, to implement it and put criminals behind bars where they belong.”
Grimsley has already received the backing of the Florida State Fraternal Order of Police, Florida Professional Firefighters and more than 35 Florida sheriffs.
