Jimmy Patronis, running for his first full-term at Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, received the endorsement of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. Patronis and Rubio previously served together in the Florida House.
“Today, I am pleased to announce my support and strong endorsement for Jimmy Patronis to remain Florida’s Chief Financial Officer. Jimmy Patronis is someone voters can trust to effectively manage our state’s finances. Through his unwavering dedication to protecting Florida consumers and instrumental advocacy on behalf of our first responders, he has earned our vote this November,” said Senator Rubio.
“It is an absolute honor to receive the backing of Senator Marco Rubio in my bid to continue serving as the CFO of Florida. His leadership as both Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and now in the U.S. Senate has been invaluable to our state,” said CFO Jimmy Patronis. “Because of the hard work of Florida’s conservative leaders, we have an economy that is prospering. Together, Senator Rubio and I will continue this momentum.”
Patronis was appointed state CFO by Governor Rick Scott to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Jeff Atwater. Patronis previously served as a member of the Public Service Commission and for 8 years in the Florida House.
He’ll face former Yahoo executive and state Senator Jeremy Ring in November. Ring recently came under fire for hiring a political operative who posed as Patronis to get possession of the CFO’s driving record.
