Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis has released his first TV commercial of the election cycle. In an emotional ad, first responders discuss the impact of Patronis pushing legislation that provides mental health benefits for them.
Featured in the ad is powerful testimony from Megan Vila, the sister of a firefighter who tragically died by suicide; firefighter Captain Ricardo Vila; PTSD advocate Deborah Ortiz; and Governor Rick Scott. Speaking of CFO Patronis spearheading this critical change in law Ortiz says, “This legislation that Jimmy Patronis has fought for is going to save lives.”
The ad begins airing this weekend during college football games.
Patronis is running for his first full term as the state’s CFO. Patronis announced earlier this week he has raised more than $5 million in his campaign. Patronis faces former state Senator Jeremy Ring in November.
