It’s on. Starting today and running until Noon Friday, candidates running for Governor, Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, Agriculture Commissioner, State Senate, State House, State Attorney, Public Defender and local offices qualify to be on the ballot.

Everything you’ve heard from candidates so far is the pre-game. After qualifying it’s a race to the finish line for the August 28th primary election and November 6 general election.

Even before qualifying begins, 3 current state Senators and 21 House candidates have yet to draw an opponent. If no one files to run before midday Friday, they are elected with no opposition.

Throughout the week, FLA News Online will provide updated qualifying information for each state race.
