In a move that comes as no surprise at all, President Donald Trump has endorsed Northwest Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. The President announced his endorsement during in an early morning tweet.
Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is one of the finest and most talented people in Congress. Strong on Crime, the Border, Illegal Immigration, the 2nd Amendment, our great Military & Vets, Matt worked tirelessly on helping to get our Massive Tax Cuts. He has my Full Endorsement!

Trump had previously called Gaetz a “warrior.”
Gaetz is a frequent guest on cable news programs and uses those opportunities to defend the President and criticize the on-going Russia investigation which Gaetz calls the work of “deep state actors.”
Gaetz faces two GOP challengers in the August 28 primary, John Mills and veteran Cris Dose, who Gaetz defeated in 2016 in a crowded primary.
House District 1 is perhaps the most conservative district in Florida and has a very heavy military influence with a Navy station in Pensacola and Air Force installations in Okaloosa County.
