Former Governor Jeb Bush asked President Trump to end his “heartless policy” separating children from their parents who attempt to illegally enter the United States. Bush grows a growing number of prominent Republicans condemning the administration policy.
Children shouldn’t be used as a negotiating tool. @realDonaldTrump should end this heartless policy and Congress should get an immigration deal done that provides for asylum reform, border security and a path to citizenship for Dreamers. https://t.co/OOjv0vNeVg

Governor Bush’s comments follow those of former First Lady Laura Bush who wrote a scathing op-ed for the Washington Post comparing the current policy to the forced internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
Earlier Monday, Governor Rick Scott denounced the policy.
Miami Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart also called the action “unacceptable” in a Twitter posting Monday morning.
It is totally unacceptable, for any reason, to purposely separate minor children from their parents. Any and every other option should be implemented in order to not separate minors from their parents, which I believe is unconscionable.
