The Florida Medical Association announced Friday its support for Melony Bell who’s running in the open state House district 56 seat.
Bell currently is a Polk County Commissioner.
“The FMA PAC is honored to endorse Melony Bell for House District 56. Commissioner Bell is a proven leader in her community and we look forward for the opportunity to workwith her in the House on important health care issues that face our state,” said Dr. Mike Patete, President of the FMA’s political action committee.
“I am beyond honored to be endorsed by the Florida Medical Association. I look forward to working with the FMA in order to best support and advocate for physicians and the medical community. There is a responsibility to guarantee high standards, ethics, quality and availability in the medical field throughout Florida. I am excited to be part of this cause and I am extremely humbled that FMA has put their trust in me to lead the way in this initiative,” said Commissioner Bell.
State House District 56 includes parts of DeSoto, Hardee, and Polk counties. This is an open seat currently held by Rep. Ben Albritton (R-Bartow) who is term limited.
