The President’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr. is urging Florida Republicans to get to the polls between now and election day.

In the digital ad, Trump Jr. touts his father’s policy successes and the need to keep Republicans in control of Congress.

The commercial features Trump Jr. addressing the camera with video of President Trump mixed into the 30 second ad.

“Every day President Trump fights for the millions of forgotten men and women who deserve a bigger paycheck, a better deal, and a brighter future,” Trump Jr. said. “We always need the radical left, the mainstream media and the swamp would fight back. But their time is over. This is our time. Our nation. And our future on the line.”

The ad is paid for by America First Policies, a non-profit organization that generally supports President Trump’s key policy initiatives. The Florida media buy is part of an overall campaign in the waning days of the 2018 election cycle. Similar ads will air in six other states (Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada and Tennessee) and nine Congressional districts. American First Policies will spend $1.2 million starting Friday through election day. The digital ad will primarily target Republicans on Facebook and Google.

With early voting trends supporting the theory that 2018 is a base election between Democrats and Republicans, Don Jr’s Get Out the Vote (GOTV) message could resonate with Republicans. Recent polling shows President Trump’s popularity among Florida Republicans is in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. But more importantly engaging voters who are part of the Trump base and may not necessarily vote in a midterm election without President Trump on the ballot is critical for the Republican Party. Early voting totals have already exceeded the 2014 midterm.
